With young actress making a mark in the industry with their captivating performances in films, one naturally thinks, 'Who is the best actress?'. Bollywoodlife.com wanted to answer that very question and so, hosted a poll for the fans to vote on who they feel, was the best actress of 2016. The website just unveiled the results of the poll and the people have chosen Sonam Kapoor as their queen.
The competition was mainly between Sonam and Alia Bhatt for their performances in Neerja (Sonam) and Udta Punjab (Alia). Sonam received 54.08 percent of the votes while Alia got 35.86 percent.
The other actresses in the list were Vidya Balan (4.93 percent), Sonakshi Sinha (2.05 percent), Anushka Sharma (1.84 percent) and Taapsee Pannu (1.23 percent).
'Neerja' was a biopic on Pan Am flight 73's flight attendant Neerja Bhanot. The flight was hijacked by terrorists and Neerja gave her life in trying to save the passengers on board. The movie was lauded by the audience and Sonam was praised for portraying the real life hero so well. While Alia's performance as a migrant laborer in 'Udta Punjab' was really good, it could not win the hearts of the audiences.
